PSL Dream Team: Polokwane XI

Premiership looks at players hailing from Polokwane and puts together the best XI side that have made it to the professional ranks in the PSL era.

GK: Jackson Mabokgwane. Played for Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates and now at Bloemfontein Celtic. He hails from Ga-Rammetlwane in Moletjie Village.

RB: Ramahlwe Mphahlele. Born in Dithabaneng, Ga-Mphahlele. 'Rama' played for Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns and is currently with Kaizer Chiefs. He also played for all the SA junior teams, while being capped 15 times at Bafana Bafana.

LB: Punch Masenamela. Currently playing for Mbabane Highlands in eSwatini, he previously played for Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns. He hails from Buchun.

CB: Vincent Kobola. Currently assistant coach at Maritzburg United, he also played for Moroka Swallows and Cape Town City. Kobola was born and bred in Seshego.

CB: Thabiso Semenya. 'Touch' was born and bred in Moletjie, and has played for Platinum Stars, Polokwane City and most recently Baroka FC.

CM: Hlompho Kekana. Kekana hails from Zebediela, Mokgoto and started playing professional football with Black Leopards, before moving to Gauteng to join SuperSport United. He is currently the long-serving captain of Mamelodi Sundowns.

CM: Mahlatsi Makudulela. Currently playing for Georgian side FC Gagra, Makudubela has previously played for Platinum Stars, Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates. He hails from Seshego.

CM: Lucky Baloyi. Played for Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows and is currently with Bloemfontein Celtic. Baloyi is a product of Tshamahansi in Ga-Magongwa.

RW: Lerato Lamola. Even though his family is based in Tembisa, Lamola is originally from Hanse Mmapela in Polokwane. He has played for Bloemfontein Celtic before moving to Durban to join Golden Arrows.

CF: Ndumiso Mabena. The Bloemfontein Celtic captain hails from Denelton and has also represented Orlando Pirates after turning out for Winners Park.

LW: Aubrey Modiba. Made a name for himself with Mpumalanga Black Aces, after rising through the School of Excellence and being scouted through the Nedbank Ke Yona program.  He is currently with SuperSport United, and also played for Cape Town City and Bafana Bafana. Modiba is from Manse Matshelapata.
