Cavin welcomes oxygen boost

Dikwena dented Sundowns' title ambitions with a 2-2 draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium last night, leaving Johnson's side four points above the drop zone with four games left.

Johnson admitted Stars rode their luck against the African champions in Atteridgeville.

He told SuperSportTV: "We are happy, I thought the boys put in a good shift. If we played like this every week we wouldn't be looking to climb out of the hole we are in. Credit to them, they really did the job.

"Sundowns... they are not African champions for nothing. They can play the game and they missed a good few chances. I thought the goalie [Mbongeni Mzimela] was more the man of the match than Ndumiso Mabena. But in saying that the boys go home with one point.

"Someone said yesterday it's like oxygen, so this is like oxygen for us. [It was] more than a much-needed point."

The Phokeng-based outfit next host bottom-placed Highlands Park at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday (15h00).
