It was a great way to finish the season for Dikwena, who profited from goals from Tintswalo Tshabalala, Mogakolodi Ngele and Thuso Phala
Dikwena dominated the game from start to finish, and might have had more goals to show for their efforts.
They had the lead just after the half-hour mark when Tshabalala finished from close-range from a Solomon Mathe pass.
Scorer turned provider for the second when Tshabalala’s cross from the right found Ngele just outside the area and the Botswana international blasted home his 10th goal of the season.
Thabani Mthembu tried an audacious over-head kick that went over the bar, but did make his presence felt in Stars’ third. His cross from the right was only parried by Ronwen Williams into the path of Phala, who scored against his future employers.
The pace of the game dropped in the second period, Stars happy to defend what they had and SuperSport resigned to their fate in the match.
It had an end of season feel to it as the celebration in the stands from the Dikwena supporters started in earnest as the team capped what has been an extraordinary season for them in fine style.
