Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident Rhulani Mokwena will stand up to the pressure of coaching a big club like Orlando Pirates.
Mokwena has been handed the coaching reins at Pirates following the departure of Milutin Sredojovic on Friday.
The former assistant coach started his tenure as caretaker coach on a bad note after the Buccaneers were beaten 1-0 by Highlands Parks in the MTN8 on Saturday.
Mosimane believes Mokwena has a great future as a head coach.
"I even texted Rhulani also to wish him luck. He has been looking for that and he got the opportunity to do it," said Mosimane.
"Rhulani, I told you guys when he was still next to me that I think he is going to be better than me in future. But you know how football is. He still has to travel the road, his route.
"He must not worry about the loss [against Highlands Park] because it's part of football."
Mokwena's next assignment as head coach is against AmaZulu in a league match in Durban on Tuesday.
