'Pitso reports just mischievous people'

AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson believes the reports about Pitso Mosimane wanting to leave Mamelodi Sundowns are just people trying to destabilise the club.

Johnson, who himself has had to deal with speculation about his job security over the last few months, believes there are many "mischievous" people in football who focus on destabilising teams.

"We are working in the entertainment industry, everyone wants to have a better record than the other one, so if you feel you have something to say about it people say, and the phones have manipulated the world, manipulating the story like the one against Pitso Mosimane at Sundowns," Johnson said.

At the end of last season there was talk about Johnson's future at Usuthu after not qualifying for the top eight, despite helping the team fight back after the deduction of six points.

Speaking ahead of their first league match of 2019/20 against Bidvest Wits on Saturday, Johnson says it is normal to have people after his job.

"Link to my job? It's normal and there's a lot of coaches linked to Pitso's job. It's normal to have those things in football, there's a lot of mischievous people out there, mischievous to unsettle your team or the coach."
