Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane admitted he didn't expect to lose to Golden Arrows on Sunday afternoon.
A brace from Knox Mutizwa and another goal from Danny Phiri gave Abafana Bes'thende victory in a five-goal thrillerat the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
"As I said difficult game, what can you say difficult conditions for both teams obviously. Ja, the biggest mistake by our number one goalkeeper [Denis Onyango], it happens, it's the conditions," Mosimane told SuperSport TV.
"He applied the wrong technique and the ball bounced differently but it's okay, we accept [defeat]."
Mosimane also went on to explain why he brought in Sibusiso Vilakazi and Jose Ali Meza late in the game.
"We tried to get the speed behind, that change helped us, that's why 'Vila' [Vilakazi] managed to go through on the right once or twice. I though [Divine] Lunga could've been booked on that foul because the referee spoke to him three times.
"I though the third time he was going to book him but he didn't, it's okay. We got the goal, we could've scored another one in the last minute to be honest, but it's OK, it's difficult conditions, a difficult game for us. Ja, I never thought we'll lose this game," he went on.
"I don't know if we can play that game here in this pitch, because the drainage is not good and the referees' guy, what do you call him, who looks after referees? [Fourth official], was also complaining about bad patches, it's a good pitch but it's got some bad patches where the sprinklers are to be honest but it's okay, let's not go there. The PSL knows why they brought the game here, I don't know if the stadium can take the semi-final but I don't want to make that an excuse because both teams played here but it's OK. What can I say, we try again, we have to try more."
