Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has explained why he is giving a key goalscorer some time out of the team at the moment.

Midfielder-cum-striker Lebohang Maboe missed the last game for Sundowns against Maritzburg United in Tshwane .

Mosimane has hinted that the former Mbombela United man could also miss the CAF Champions League match against Cote d'Or tonight.

"I have given Lebo a rest. Lebo must rest. Lebo needs to rest a little bit and calm down," said Mosimane.

"The team can win without Lebo. There is no problem. He will come back. Let him get the energy, let him get the appetite. He has been playing for a team [Maritzburg] that play after seven days, so he has been going and going.
