Mosimane confirms Modiba interest

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed his club's interest in signing Aubrey Modiba from SuperSport United.

Sundowns are reported to have submitted an offer for Modiba a few weeks ago but it was turned down by United.

However, it looks like the Brazilians are not ready to give up in their pursuit of for the former Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder and could revisit Matsatsantsa with a fresh offer.

"He has a contract [with SuperSport United]. We did it the right way, we didn't go behind the back. The challenge is that SuperSport United said it is not selling.

"We would love to have him. He is a player we wanted. He is young, left-footed. We can't do much. We can only enquire. So it's up to SuperSport United if there is a possibility again."

Sundowns recently unveiled new Uruguayan striker Mauricio Affonso in preparation for the new season.
