Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has called on the PSL Disciplinary Committee to exercise consistency when applying their rules.
This comes after Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino was handed a two-match ban after being found guilty of assaulting SuperSport United duo Dean Furman and Clayton Daniels in the MTN8 semi-finals in Tshwane last year.
Sundowns were also charged with bringing the PSL into disrepute owing to the Uruguayan midfielder's behaviour.
Mosimane believes Sirino deserved the punishment but questions the incident when Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic apparently kicked a player during a late 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in KwaZulu-Natal at the end of January.

"Sirino of course, let's be honest, he has also been naughty. I am not promoting these things that he does. I don't promote that. He needs to go through that," Mosimane said during a recent online interview.
"When he kicked somebody against Maritzburg United and got a red card, I said to the referee [Victor] Gomez he is right because he just went over the ball and he must be sent off.
"But we need consistency. I saw Nurkovic kicking someone. I think it was off the ball. He hacked him. What happened after that? Do you get what I am saying?
"Now we are saying things we are not supposed to say. When we ask that you look at that and don't look there. But if Sirino is going to be punished, he must be treated like any other player. There must be no special treatment.

"I am saying there must be consistency because Sirino has been sanctioned on the footage of an incident that happened on the pitch because the referee punished him by giving him a yellow card.
"But then it was said, 'No, what the referee did was not enough, we punish you because of what we see in the video footage.'
"I am right? But what about the video of Nurkovic? So that one, why are they not talking about it? Because the referee missed it also. I don't blame the referee, he missed it.
"But if you bring things back from the video footage, I will say where is your consistency? Are the games all on television? So those who are not on television, they are benefiting.
"In my opinion you can’t have decisions that you took from the video of the match footage and judge on it if you don’t have consistency."
