Pirates coaches blamed for Zungu's struggles

Orlando Pirates midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu is demanding a loan move away from the club with the technical team being blamed for his recent struggles.

Zungu's early performances received rave reviews but now finds himself well down the pecking order a mere few months later.

KickOff has it on good authority that the former Stellenbosch FC player is dissatisfied by his lack of playing time and is now pushing for a loan move.

The 25-year-old has made just two appearances for the Buccaneers so far this season.

Former Pirates striker Andries Sebola says the club's technical staff should take the blame for Zungu's situation.

"I think it's about being given a chance and he has not been given a proper chance," Sebola says.

"Where he is playing there are so many favourites that the coaches prefer over him.

"He is a good player, a future South African international and it's unfortunate that he isn't receiving the proper support.

"Now they want to loan him out of the team, so it becomes a problem for his future because his heart was at Pirates.

"He needs is to work hard to be able to bounce back."
