Maritzburg United midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase has confirmed that he has returned the club's proposal for a new contract.
Ntshangase is currently on loan to the Team of Choice from Bidvest Wits.
The midfielder's contract with Wits is set to expire next month and he is currently free to sign a pre-contract with any team.
Ntshangase has had a fruitful stay in KwaZulu-Natal since relocating to Pietermaritzburg at the beginning of the season.
"I have been enjoying my stay at Maritzburg United. They are a good team and the spirit is great at the club," Ntshangase tells KickOff.com.
"They are a small club but when you get inside you learn that they are a great team. They have treated me well since my first day at training.
"This was my first time to play professional football outside Gauteng but I adjusted very well with the help of the technical team and my teammates.
"Yes, they [Maritzburg] made an offer and I returned the proposal to them because with football activities suspended we haven't had a chance to talk.
"Hopefully when we go back we will get a chance and talk."
Besides his option to join Maritzburg on a permanent deal, Ntshangase remains open to any offers as he is looking forward to continuing his fine performances next season.
"Wits have not said anything," he adds. "At the moment I have not signed a pre-contract with anyone."
