Former Bidvest Wits midfielder Phuthutshedzo Nange has turned down an offer from Swallows FC in favour of a move to join Stellenbosch FC.
Nange is currently a free agent and had been training with Kaizer Chiefs in the hope that their FIFA transfer ban would be overturned.
But after the Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed Amakhosi's appeal, the former Black Leopards star has decided to secure employment elsewhere.
The 28-year-old was expected to join the Dube Birds together with Sifiso Hlanti, who has been confirmed as a new Swallows player, but has instead opted for a move to the Cape.
According to a source close to Nange, the player was expected to travel to the Western Cape on Tuesday to finalise a deal with Stellenbosch.
"The deal is almost 90 percent that he will join Stellenbosch," the source tells KickOff.com. "Swallows wanted him together with Hlanti but he opted for Stellenbosch."
Nange will link up with his former Clever Boys teammate Zitha Macheke in Steve Barker's side after the defender moved to Stellies following the sale of Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
Brandon Petersen, another top former Students player who had been on Chiefs' radar, remains a free agent as he continues his injury rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch have also signed exciting Argentinian talent Junior Mendieta, who will wear the number 10 jersey for the club this season.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder was last on the books of Argentine top-flight side Club Atletico Lanus but had been loaned out to three different club in the last four years.
