More former Bidvest Wits players are inevitably being linked with Kaizer Chiefs after Gavin Hunt's appointment despite their FIFA transfer ban.
Speculation went crazy again on Thursday after Hunt was unveiled at The Village that certain of his ex-Students could now join him in Naturena.
The big problem is that any transfer news related to Chiefs is subject to a big proviso: the club's appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport needs to be successful for their FIFA transfer ban to be overturned.
This website has been informed that an appeal of this nature to CAS could still take weeks to find an outcome, meaning Chiefs could miss the next transfer window altogether even if they win the appeal.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have now started to release more players, with Sifiso Hlanti and Thabang Monane being let go on Thursday night and Zitha Macheke having just signed for Stellenbosch FC.
Nevertheless, another player has apparently indicated his willingness to wait for Chiefs should the club be considering bring him on board.
"Remember, they are still attached to the new owners, everyone is still a TTM player," an inside source tells KickOff.com.
"No one has been given a clearance yet, besides those that have been sold. Tyson [Thulani Hlatshwayo], Haashim [Domingo], Goss [Ricardo]... remember Tyson and [Deon] Hotto went to Pirates. Most of the players that have not left yet are still waiting for their clearances.
"Hopefully at the end of this week the players will know something. I don't think TTM as a new team in the PSL can afford most of these guys' salaries. What he wants [owner Lawrence] Mulaudzi is to loan these boys and it's not possible, the players don't want to be loaned."
According to the source, Phathutshedzo Nange is in demand and could be seen as an option for Chiefs to replace Joseph Molangoane, who left Naturena to join TTM last year. Like Molangoane, Nange can play both as a right-back and winger.
"The player is in Venda now, he is still busy sorting out his clearance issues so at this stage it's still not clear where he is going," the sources continues.
"There are some teams who want to sign these players outright. Sundowns, SuperSport and Chiefs are really interested in Nange. But Chiefs' hands are tied by their FIFA case. The player thinks he will have a good opportunity at Chiefs but he is determined to wait and see."
