The agent of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Phakamani Mahlambi has addressed concerns that his career might be coming to a standstill at Chloorkop.
With Sundowns trying to sign another striker for the CAF Champions League, it is not yet clear what the future holds for the former Bidvest Wits star.
Since leaving Wits for Egyptian giants Al Ahly in 2017, all the hype around Mahlambi has died down, with injuries also not helping his progress.
With his talent, many expected him to be in Europe by now having once been described as "better than Benni McCarthy at his age" by Gavin Hunt.
Last season he made an impact for Pitso Mosimane's side by scoring the goal that sealed the Absa Premiership title in a 1-0 win over Free State Stars.
However, this season the 22-year-old has played just 267 minutes of football.
Mahlambi's agent Glyn Binkin was measured in his response when asked if he thinks his client's career is now stagnating at Chloorkop.
"Mahlambi is still under contract to Sundowns and like every other player at the club he is working hard to try to get into the starting line-up when the season resumes," Binkin tells KickOff.com.
"He realises he is part of a very strong squad and needs to be patient and wait his turn."
