'Let's give Swallows signings 10 games'

Former Moroka Swallows captain Peter Matshitse says 10 matches will be enough to tell if the club's new signings are the real deal or not.

The Dude Birds have already made 14 signings so far as they strengthen their team for the upcoming 2019/20 DStv Premiership season.

A lot is expected from the GladAfrica Championship side following their automatic return to the big league as NFD champions.

But Matshitse believes the new Swallows FC players should be given an opportunity to settle into the team.

"I think so far things are going well, they had to beef up a little, but you need to beef up in this league," Matshitse tells KickOff.com.

"If you check teams like Sundowns, they have many good players. So we can't tell what's going to happen. We can only judge them once they've played.

"Sometimes a player's experience helps a lot on the field. So we will see after the first 10 games what is happening. I think 10 games will be enough to judge these new players on consistency and what direction we have as Swallows.

"Those who were promoted with the team must now change to the next gear. This is another level you know, it's not the same level."
