Zulu's 21/22 aspirations suffers blow

Newly promoted DStv Premiership club Sekhukhune United have decided not to retain the services of one of their experienced players.

Pentjie Zulu joined Sekhukhune earlier this year shortly after agreeing to a settlement to part ways with former club Black Leopards.

Zulu made only six appearances for Sekhukhune in the GladAfrica Championship last season, and it seem he did not do enough to convince the club to keep him.

In an article published by KickOff.com on April 4, 2021, the former Bidvest Wits defender revealed his plans of playing Premiership football come the 2021/2022 season.

"Now we are going to make sure the team [Sekhukhune] gets promoted. I'm coming back in the PSL next season. I can't say which team but I'll be back next season. It will depend which team but personally my aim is to get promoted with the club," He said at the time.

Though the left - back's dream of being promoted with Babina Noko did come true, he will not be playing top-tier football with the club.

"Yes, I'm no longer at Sekhukhune, [I have] no team so far. My contract expired," Zulu told this website.

He is currently back home in Bloemfontein and club searching, with Free State Stars believed to be one of the outfits willing to give the 31-year-old another chance.

Other clubs the former Jomo Cosmos star represented in football career includes Chippa United and Highlands Park.
