New Leopards head coach confirmed

Premiership

Black Leopards are set to unveil former Simba SC coach Patrick Aussems as their new mentor for the 2020/21 season.

Aussems will take over the coaching reins from Morgan Shivambu and Mongezi Bobe, who recently helped the team survive relegation via the playoffs.

Lidoda Duvha boss David Thidiela has agreed terms with the Belgian coach, who will be installed as the new man in charge following the July departure of Alan Clark, who was the club's fourth coach of the past season.

"We have a new coach. We will announce him this week," Thidiela confirms to KickOff.com.

This publication understands that Aussems has signed a three-year deal and is set to be assisted by Shivambu and Bobe in the new DStv Premiership season.

Aussems delivered the 2018/19 Tanzanian Premier League title to Dar es Salaam-based Simba but was relieved of his duties at the end of November 2019 following a disciplinary suspension.

The 55-year-old former Stade Reims, Angers and AC Leopards coach stands more than two metres tall and has been in club management since 1992. He was also linked with the Polokwane City job last year.
