TS Galaxy coach Owen da Gama took responsibility for a 'tactical blunder' that he felt played a part in his team's 3-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Instead of opting for an out-and-out right winger, Da Gama opted to play the usually centrally deployed Mxolisi Macuphu on the right.
The former Bafana Bafana assistant coach admitted that hindered his side as they were badly exposed on that flank by the Brazilians.
"I think we made a tactical blunder. Instead of bringing a proper right winger we allowed Machuphu to go and play on the right and that's where I think things fell apart," the Galaxy boss told SuperSport TV.
However, there were positives to take for Da Gama - in particular his side's first-half performance and believes if they can play like they did in the opening 45 then he predicts a successful season for his team.
"But it's all part of the learning curve," he said.
"It's work in motion and we're building so you know I'm hundred percent certain that if we play the way we played in the first half I think things could turn out very well for us."
