Pirates' Motshwari charged by police

Orlando Pirates on Monday confirmed that midfielder Ben Motshwari has been suspended by the club after being charged by police.

Pirates confirmed that the midfielder would remain suspended indefinitely, pending an investigation.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has suspended midfielder Ben Mothswari after being charged by police this morning," a club statement said.

"Mr Motshwari will remain suspended, pending an investigation.

"The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is therefore unable to make further comment until that process is complete."

The 30-year-old had made a substitute appearance in the Buccaneers' 3-1 away win over Chippa United after being introduced in the 81st minute on Saturday.
