Baroka respond on Makgopa, Mosele

Baroka FC have remained secretive over the futures of star duo Evidence Makgopa and Goodman Mosele, who are believed to be on their way to Soweto.

As earlier reported by KickOff.com, Mosele has completed a move from Baroka to Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2021/22 season.

SoccerLaduma have also since reported that Pirates have also beaten Mamelodi Sundowns to the signature of Makgopa, who will remain on loan at Baroka in the new season.

Contacted for comment, chairman of the Limpopo-based outfit Khurishi Mphahlele rather unconvincingly denied any knowlegde of any such deal being on the table.

"Okay, as for me I don't know," responded Mphahlele.

Information from a source is that Bakgaga rejected offers from abroad and opted instead to seal a deal for both players with the Buccaneers.

The chairman is also said to have rejected an telephonic approach from Sundowns for the services of Makgopa, rather than a formal offer being made to the club's offices.

It is believed that Baroka's estimation of Makgopa alone was initially R8-million, but this was prior to his impressive debut for Bafana Bafana, in which he scored a brace against Uganda last month.

Pirates are thought to have paid in the region of R10-million for the 21-year-old PSL Young Player of the Season, while more cash is likely to have been splashed to earlier land Mosele.
