Maphangule joined the Buccaneers from Black Leopards before the start of the new season, but has not seen much action so far. The 27-year-old has made one appearance as a substitute, coming on for the final 22 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in August.
Mlambo, who gets to see Maphangule in training every day, has spoken out about his teammate being underrated.
“I would say he is underrated because most people have not seen him and he has not played as much, but I think South Africa will see what a blessing it is to have a player like him,” Mlambo tells KickOff.com.
Competition in midfield at Pirates is even harder this season. With the likes of Musa Nyatama, Mpho Makola, Ben Motshwari, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso and even the young Augustine Mahlonoko, Maphangule has his work cut out to break into the team.
The Buccaneers will be back in Absa Premiership action when they take on SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (20h15).
