Orlando Pirates midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch has been advised amid the transfer speculation linking him with a move to Europe.
Lorch’s future has come under speculation in recent weeks, with several European clubs having shown an interest in the Pirates star, following his impressive showing last season.
The reigning PSL Footballer of the Season, who beat the likes of Hlompho Kekana and Themba Zwane to the gong, also showed his prowess on the international stage when he netted for Bafana Bafana in their impressive victory over Mo Salah’s Egypt at AFCON 2019.
Now, former Buccaneer Jabu Mahlangu has shared a word of advice for the 26-year-old winger regarding his next steps.
“Sometimes we can say it’s too early, but sometimes opportunity comes once. He has done well, and he has proven his worth in South African football,” ‘Shuffle’ tells KickOff.com.
“Even in the Carling Black Label – I know it was a pre-season [fixture], but he showed his class again with that fantastic goal he scored against Kaizer Chiefs.
“I think, personally, I’d say if there is a good offer for him and for the club – because he must respect that he still has a contract with Orlando Pirates – let him go.
“He needs to go while he still can, because you don’t know if you delay then you get an injury and you’re no longer available to play, then it becomes a problem.
“So, I think it is the right time for him to go and also make his money, and also come back and help Bafana Bafana with that experience.”
