Dube progress impresses Pirates

Dube is into his second year on loan at Celtic and has stood out at Siwelele, present for every minute of all the 15 games that the club has played to date in all competitions.

Such has been Dube’s influence that not only has he been effective with his defensive duties at right-back but has been a thorn in the flesh for opponents going forward being involved in plenty of the moves that have led to Celtic goals.

Now word is that Pirates have given him full marks for his performances in the first half of the season with considerations being made that he could finally be ripe at the end of the season.

Dube has spent the past four years being fine-tuned away on loan.

His first two years were away at Sivutsa Stars in the first division and he is now into his second year at Celtic where he has excelled this season.

The 24 year-old is a product of the Pirates development.

Should he eventually end up back with his parent club this year then he has Thembela Sikhakhane and Ntsikelelo Nyauza for competition with Happy Jele and Thabo Matlaba as the other two options that can also get the job done in that position.
