Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has made it clear that they are coming for the big prizes next season to make up for another campaign with no trophy to display in the cabinet.
Pirates finished second behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns for a second season running, despite playing some entertaining football under coach Micho Sredojevic.
The Serbian coach recently spoke about finding a balance between defending and attacking, so that they concede less and score more than they did in the past season. It certainly won’t be easy for the Buccaneers to dethrone a Sundowns side that’s going to go into the market to add to the quality they already have at their disposal.
“Obviously we are going to try go for the league, because we are a big team, a big brand. So for us it’s always about getting silverware, not just any silverware, but taking the league. That is the ultimate prize for us, winning the league,” Khuzwayo tells KickOff.com.
“Obviously we are still on again next season for the Champions League and we are looking to take everything that is in our hands.”
Khuzwayo, who spent the season nursing and recoving from injury, will be available for selection when the new campaign gets underway.
