Pirates gain one but lose another

Premiership

Orlando Pirates have gained the services of one of their key personnel but also suffer the loss of another as they prepare to face Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila this evening.

Pirates have been boosted by the return of winger Vincent Pule, who returns from a one-match suspension after accumulating four yellow cards since the start of the season.

The 28-year-old has netted two goals in seven league games this season and will be a fresh injection as The Buccaneers go again in search of their first win of 2021.

While coach Josef Zinnbauer will welcome another attacking option, he is left to mull over a replacement for captain Thulani Hlatshwayo.

Hlatshwayo also picked up his fourth booking of the campaign in Bucs' recent 1-1 draw with high-flying Swallows FC, and will subsequently miss today's encounter in Venda.

The Soweto giants could look to to set up differently in defence against a TTM side that has scored just seven goals in nine games this season - the joint lowest in the league so far.

Ahead of the match, assistant coach Fadlu Davids said: "The mentality going into this game is to focus on the things that are in our control; leave the external factors that go against us sometimes and focus on the performance to try and get the result."
