Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of former Bidvest Wits midfielder Thabang Monare on a free transfer.
KickOff.com reported Pirates' interest in Monare back in June, with Kaizer Chiefs also linked to the player since the status sale of Wits, and he has now signed a two-year deal with The Buccaneers ahead of the inaugural DStv Premiership campaign.
The 31-year-old midfielder will add to the already star-studded midfield options as Pirates look towards added depth to compete on all fronts, with CAF Confederation Cup football added to an already grueling fixture list.
"I am happy to have signed with the club," Monare told the club's website. "I hope, like I have done in my entire career, I can make a meaningful contribution during my time here.
"I think this is a team that suits my style of play and that can only benefit me and the team for the season ahead."
The combative Monare has scored four goals and registered 10 assists in 117 top-flight appearances since making his debut with Jomo Cosmos in 2015.
