Pirates formally charged after Sukazi incident

Orlando Pirates have formally been charged in relation to an incident involving TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi last month.

The Buccanneers have been called to appear before the Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee next week Wednesday in relation to an incident that occurred during the club's league encounter against TS Galaxy last month.

During the incident in question, Rockets chairman Tim Sukazi was filmed being manhandled by security after being denied entry into the stadium at the Orlando Stadium.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club was charged yesterday [Wednesday] and the matter has been enrolled for hearing at 14:00 on Wednesday, 26 January 2022," PSL prosecutor, Adv. Zola Majuvu confirmed.

"This is in relation to [alleged] misconduct arising from the chairman of TS Galaxy being denied entry into the stadium. The charges against Orlando Pirates relate to that incident.

"That case will proceed next wee Wednesday [and] when it is finalised, at whatever date and time, a further update will be provided on the outcome of the disciplinary committee hearing."
