Maritzburg United have confirmed the signing of Leletu Skelem from Stellenbosch FC in a deal that sees Judas Moseamedi move in the opposite direction.

The Team of Choice bolstered their squad on Tuesday after confirming the acquisition of Skelem from Stellenbosch, with the 23-year-old becoming the club's ninth new signing ahead of the 2021/22 season.

"I've received a nice warm welcome from the players, the coaches and the staff," the midfielder told Maritzburg United's media team.

"I'm 100 per cent fully focussed and happy to work with coach Ernst Middendorp, more especially as an international coach. There's that space for him to teach me more about football.

"I will do my best for the team to help us get good results. To be in the top eight and to fight for the top four, that's the most important goal for me and also for the team."

Maritzburg also confirmed that striker Moseamedi has moved in the opposite direction as part of the deal after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

"The big man's commitment and selfless attitude were appreciated by all at the club. The Team of Choice thanks Judas for his outstanding efforts and we wish him all the best," a club statement said.
