Kaizer Chiefs star Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has reflected on his performances this season after being confined to a super-sub role under Stuart Baxter.
Ngcobo was a regular fixture in the Amakhosi starting lineup last season, featuring in the run-on XI in 34 of his 40 appearances for the campaign, but has seemingly been relegated to impact player status under Baxter's stewardship.
The 21-year-old midfielder has recorded just 55 minutes of game-time across three substitutes' appearances thus far and was unused in the two other matches in which he found himself on the bench.
Nonetheless, Ngcobo revealed that he is happy to contribute towards the Soweto giants' cause in whatever role he is used in and that he hopes to play his part when Chiefs travel to Marumo Gallants this weekend.
"Coming in as a sub always comes with pressure because you need to affect the game, you need to change the game," he said.
"I think, with the few minutes that I've got [in previous matches] I didn't do bad, but I can improve and if I get 15 minutes or more, I can try and help the team maybe get a goal."
Chiefs will be looking to get their title challenge back on track against Gallants after suffering a setback in each of their last two matches, losing 4-1 to Royal AM last weekend and 2-0 to reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns the week before.
