Galaxy's Nedbank Cup parade details

Premiership

National First Division side TS Galaxy have revealed details for their Nedbank Cup trophy.

Due to the untimely death of Galaxy midfielder Thembinkosi Mbamba a week after winning the Nedbank Cup in May, the club decided to hold off on having a trophy parade. They beat Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in a final played at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

They’ll have the trophy parade this Sunday and thereafter celebrate with their fans at Kameelrivier Stadium, from 15h00 till late.

Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi said: “We are pleased to eventually have the opportunity to parade the Nedbank Cup to communities within the strong base of our supporters. This event could have been held soon after the Nedbank Cup final but for certain circumstances beyond our control.

"As a club that prioritises the interests of its supporters, parading the trophy amongst our people and celebrating together with them is of great significance to us. Our supporters are living the dream of being Nedbank Cup Champions and therefore bringing the trophy to them will be a life changing experience. They deserve these special celebrations and all the joy that comes with it. We are looking forward to yet another historic day with our people.”
