Riyaad Norodien and Prince Nxumalo scored first-half goals to put the Urban Warriors 2-0 up but Aces came back in the second half through Collins Mbesuma and Bhongolethu Jayiya.
Ertugral lamented missed chances once again but was also encouraged by the way his team played at Athlone Stadium.
“That one open, hundred-percent goal chance [referring to when Aubrey Ngoma rounded the goalkeeper and then missed an empty net] … but it’s not only this week, it’s nearly every week,” Ertugral said.
“But fantastic comeback, we went into the half-time and spoke to each other, what we must do, and I can only give credit to the boys, the hard work they have [given], the season they are playing, the type of football they are playing.
“In the end we must say that we were a little bit unlucky. They [Ajax] had their situations, but we just conceded goals from counter-attacks when we actually had the ball and missed it, and we were open [at the back] and we were speaking about training that, organising every day.
“But there is an improvement, it makes me very happy today to see these boys playing that type of football … the football is the most important thing.”
