Moroka Swallows boss David Mogashoa is crossing his fingers that his club will retain its name very soon after buying the status of National First Division side Maccabi FC.
Swallows are set to host TS Sporting in the first NFD match of the season at Dobsonville Stadium this weekend but according to the fixtures released by the PSL, the club is still registered as Maccabi.
The Dube Birds are set to travel to Cape Town to face Cape Umoya United.
Mogashoa says his club is still waiting for the PSL to complete the process of changing their name.
"Yes it's true, in the fixture against TS Sporting and Cape Umoya we appear as Maccabi. We applied for the name change and everything is in the hands of the PSL," Mogashoa tells KickOff.com.
Meanwhile, as reported last week, Mogashoa confirmed that his club has concluded the signing of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Lebohang Mokoena.
"We are expecting two more players from Kaizer Chiefs to be registered with the team soon," he adds.
