Mngqithi: 'Jali deserves to be nominated'

Premiership

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has backed midfielder Andile Jali as a deserving recipient following the midfielder's incredible five DStv Premiership nominations.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has been nominated for the Footballer of the Season award, Players' Player of the Season, Midfielder of the Season, MTN 8 Last Man Standing and Nedbank Cup Player of the
Tournament awards.

Mngqithi insists that the experienced Jali would be a deserving recipient of all the individual awards he has been nominated for this season.

"It's always encouraging when your players are selected or nominated in these awards because it shows that they really helped the team in one way or the other in these competitions," Mngqithi said.

"So to see AJ in this space is very good, he had a very good season for us.

"He has fought very hard and he has played probably more than 90% of matches that we have played and he has done extremely well, so I believe he deserves to be nominated."

Jali has already won the MTN 8 and DStv premiership league trophy with Mamelodi Sundowns this season.
