On-loan Chippa United midfielder Meshack Maphangule says he is now ready to go back to Orlando Pirates and fight for his place.
In July 2018 Maphangule joined the Soweto giants from Black Leopards but was shipped out to Chippa United this season due to his lack of experience in top-flight football.
He managed only four appearances at The Sea Robbers that season – one in the Nedbank Cup, two in the league and one in the CAF Champions League. This season the 28-year-old has made 21 appearances for The Chilli Boys.
"Next season I have to go back, then they will decide if maybe they want to loan me or they want to keep me," Maphangule tells KickOff.com.
"As for me I'm more than ready for the Pirates shirt. Now I have played a lot of games in the PSL. Because before I was playing in the NFD, then at Pirates I didn't get a chance to play week in and week out.
"But here at Chippa I got a lot of game-time. So ja, I'm ready. When I joined Pirates I hadn't played in the PSL before. Maybe I adapted late. Pirates is a big team. Each and every season they should sign new players, so that's the thing."
Pirates are understood to have already signed Deon Hotto from Bidvest Wits, so it remains to be seen if Maphangule will be retained.
Pirates already have 9 other players coach Josef Zinnbauer will need to make big decisions on for next season
