Despite his father Vasili Manousakis having left Cape Town City to join AmaZulu as assistant coach to Benni McCarthy, his son Mateo's blood remains blue.
Named as City's mascot, Mateo is a recognisable figure every time the Citizens play at home in Cape Town and has been seen many times in the team's dressing room and singing along with the players.
But after his father left for Durban, many fans have been asking questions about Mateo's future at Cape Town City.
Club spokesperson Julian Bailey has since cleared the air regarding the youngster's situation and expressed confidence that their famous mascot will remain with the team despite his father's departure to Usuthu.

"That's not something we have discussed yet but the way we understand, Mateo will remain in Cape Town and Vasili will move to Durban," Bailey tells KickOff.com.
"But I'm certain Mateo will be still around. He will still be with us. Whether he is allowed at the stadium at the moment, the League doesn't allow kids at the stadium at all.
"He has not been around the team. He has come to training a couple of times but during the matches he has not been with us."
City have since roped in former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena as assistant coach to replace Manousakis alongside head coach Jan Olde Riekerink.
