Bad organisation behind Gallants coach exit

Premiership

DStv Premiership new boys Marumo Gallants head coach Sebastien Migne has revealed the reasons for the sudden resignation of trusted assistant Jean-Francois Losciuto.

Migne has faced several behind-the-scenes challenges in his short stay at Gallants since arriving at the beginning of the season.

Gallants' debut appearance in the CAF Confederation was shrouded in administrative challenges with just 13 players available. Alongside a week-long round-trip in Africa for an away clash in Equatorial Guinea.

"Unfortunately, he resigned two days ago so it is terrible for me because I needed his competence plus, he is a loyal guy," Migne says of Losciuto.

"He had personal reasons. With the kind of organisation that we had for the CAF fixture and since we have been here, it was too much for him, but I cannot give up.

"I'm obliged to show my players the way and to stay positive. For now, I will continue as the guide for my boys. I cannot abandon them and will stay with them. That doesn't mean there aren't some problems.

"There are some problems that we need to rectify in terms of the organisation in the team. It is a fact and not a secret. It is not easy for us, but we will try our best and I hope one day I will have my full squad available soon," says Migne.

Migne added that he remains handicapped with the club unable to select Kenyan attacker Michael Ovella Ochieng due to paperwork issues.

"We will have 20 players ready to fight against Maritzburg with only Ovella missing. I don’t know why he is still not registered," Migne added.

"It is a huge problem for me, but we will try to find the solution with the 20 players that we have. We have played lesser games, but we need the points in the bag and it will be good to continue the way we did against Orlando and we qualified for the next stage in CAF. We will be playing away with the intention to win," he adds.
