Maritzburg United are hoping to turn a good performance into a good result when they take on promoted side Stellenbosch today.
The Team of Choice have produced some good football in their first two matches against Golden Arrows and Highlands Park but have no wins under their belt yet.
"I think it's been a good two weeks of training, couple of friendly games, and we are looking to rectify certain things in our offensive play. I think that's what let us down in our first two matches, and obviously we are disappointed with the results," said coach Eric Tinkler.
"Our performances have been decent in both games, I think we deserved to collect all three points, but our finishing let us down in that final third. We've tried to work on that.
"I think the intensity in training has been very good. Now it's about looking to get our first win because obviously we want to build the confidence and morale of the team and create that winning mentality.
"So it's very important for us to go to Stellenbosch and get three points before our next home game against Black Leopards on Wednesday."
United have travelled without four players who suffered injuries. Three are expected to be back soon while Thamsanqa Sangweni is expected to be out for two weeks maximum.
"Unfortunately Miguel Timm, Gabriel Nyoni and Siyanda Xulu have a couple of niggling injuries but everybody else seems to be available. Thamsanqa Sangweni unfortunately will also be out, probably a week or two before he's available."
Kick-off at Athlone Stadium is at 15h00.
