Maritzburg United are preparing to sign Free State Stars midfielder Yusuf Jappie.

United are among a few clubs that have been busy in the transfer market during the off season having already signed defender Kwanda Mngonyama and midfielder Phumalni Ntshangase.

Ntshangase has joined the KwaZulu-Natal side on a one-year loan deal from SuperSport United.

According to reliable information gathered by KickOff.com, Stars have given Maritzburg permission to speak to Jappie with a view to signing him.

"The clubs have agreed in principle. The only thing left is for the player to agree terms with Marzitburg United," a close source reveals.

"The deal is set to be concluded very soon."
