Maritzburg United have confirmed that they have handed head coach Eric Tinkler a new contract after saving them from relegation.
Tinkler has signed a new two-year deal with the Team of Choice, following his good work with the side, as he saved them via the promotion/relegation play-offs.
Tinkler says they will not make many changes, but he will have a tough job in replacing Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu, who have both joined Orlando Pirates.
“On the field of play, let’s not look to make massive changes, because I think that’s just going to confuse everyone. I want to try and rebuild what was good, what they know, and bring a positive vibe to training and to the club,” the former Pirates and Cape Town City coach said.
Chairman Farook Kadodia says he is confident that Tinkler is the right man to lead the team.
“There seems to be a real synergy between the coach and Maritzburg United, and we are confident that he is the right man to take us forward and get us back where we want to be, challenging for a position in the top eight as a minimum."
