Maritzburg part ways with Mekoa

Maritzburg United have decided against renewing the contract of Deolin Mekoa.

The former Bafana Bafana international has been on the books of the KwaZulu-Natal club since 2014 but left in January this year to join Ajax Cape Town on a six-month loan deal.

NEWS: Two more players to leave Maritzburg

It was once reported that the 26-year-old was not seeing eye to eye with United coach Eric Tinkler, with the winger enjoying a new lease on life with the GladAfrica Championship log leaders.

"He's contracted to Ajax till the end of the season and then he's free," Binkin tells KickOff.com.

"Maritzburg didn't exercise the option to keep him. We'll have to see, it's still the middle of the season, and hopefully Ajax get promoted and he can stay there. But we'll have to see."
