Maritzburg close to capturing Zambian marksman

Maritzburg United are reportedly on the verge of sealing a move for current Zambian MTN Super League leading scorer Friday Samu.

According to sources, the Green Buffaloes striker is currently in South Africa training with the Team Of Choice.

Samu is believed to have arrived in South Africa early last week and is said to be pushing for a move from his current club as he looks to fulfil a long-held ambition to play in the DStv Premiership.

The lanky forward currently leads the scoring charts in Zambia with 14 goals.

It remains to be seen though if the Zambian side are willing to part ways with one of their prized assets as they look to lift their first league title since 1981.

Maritzburg currently occupies 13th position on the league standings with 15 points after 18 matches played.

They are only two points above the bottom of the table TS Galaxy FC and Baroka FC who are both sitting on 13.
