Maritzburg announce three signings

Maritzburg United have confirmed the signings of Sibusiso Hlubi and Riyaaz Ismail, as well as the permanent deal of Phumlani Ntshangase ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Just hours after unveiling marquee signing Jose Ali Meza, the Team of Choice also confirmed the arrivals of highly-rated centre-back Ismail and pacey winger Hlubi.

The 24-year-old Hlubi impressed while at Polokwane City last season and has over 50 appearances in the top-flight since his debut with Free State Stars during the 2017/18 season.

South Africa youth international Ismail spent last season with Real Kings after developing in the academy structures of Hellenic and SuperSport United and helped the GladAfrica Championship side finish in fourth place last season.

"We would like to extend a warm welcome to the City of Choice to Sibusiso Hlubi, Jose Meza and Riyaaz Ismail, and are very pleased that Phumlani Ntshangase has decided to extend his stay at our club," Chairman Farook Kadodia said.

"Football is an ever-evolving sport and a crucial element to that is staying on top of matters in the transfer market; identifying the areas which need beefing up and getting the relevant players into the mix.

"In this regard, we are very pleased with the business which has been conducted and are confident the new players will give much-added value to our team.

"With a bit of a mix of experience and hungry young talent, we are optimistic about the latest arrivals to our club and look forward to a successful campaign."
