Maritzburg United have issued a transfer update as they prepare their squad for the 2020/21 season.
The Team of Choice have confirmed the acquisition of midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase on a permanent deal following his loan spell last season.
Ntshangase arrives on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Bidvest Wits, who have since been taken over by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzvhandila.
The 25-year-old is a product of Wits' academy and spent a total of six years contracted to the club, though he was twice loaned out to SuperSport United before his stint with Maritzburg.
Following the departure of Miguel Timm, the former South Africa junior international is set to fill the void in midfield alongside the likes of Daylon Claasen and Keagan Buchanan.
“I’m so excited to sign a permanent contract with the team. It’s a huge blessing and I feel honoured. This is a great club, hopefully we can achieve something together this season,” said the diminutive workhorse.
Ntshangase managed 17 appearances for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit last season but was derailed by injury.
