Maritzburg are propping up the Absa Premiership table with 11 points from 15 games, having lost 2-0 to KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows on Sunday in what was Ertugral's first test since replacing Fadlu Davids at the Team of Choice.
"We need to start winning to gain confidence," Ertugral said after the defeat to Abafana Bes'thende.
"Our next game we need three points," added the Turk, who has identified "one or two" local strikers as January transfer window targets.
Meanwhile, United goalkeeper Richard Ofori has challenged his teammates to rise to the occasion against fellow strugglers Ea Lla Koto, who also have a new coach in the form of Nikola Kavazovic.
The Nedbank Cup champions, 2-1 victors in the reverse tie in August 2018, were left in 14th spot on the table with 13 points following a 2-1 loss to log leaders Bidvest Wits last time out.
"Stars are very good team. They have a new coach, they have changed the way they play. They start from the back, that tells you the way that the team wants to play," Ofori told his club's website.
"They are also in a challenging position. Every game is like a cup final, we just need to focus. Now it is about confidence. We need men to fight so we can get out of this position. We have been preparing well but we have not been getting the results that we need."
Kick-Off is at 19h30 at Harry Gwala Stadium.
