Mamelodi Sundowns are working around the clock to register newly-acquired striker Pavol Safranko in time for the MTN8 clash against Kaizer Chiefs in Tshwane on Sunday.
Safranko joined Sundowns on a lucrative three-year deal and is set to become the first Slovakian player to feature in the PSL.
The Brazilians recently completed the signing of fellow attacker Thabiso Kutumela to add more firepower to their strike force, including Kermit Erasmus and Peter Shalulile.
According to a club official, Safranko is expected to receive his work permit before the week's end, allowing him to begin his football career in South Africa.
"Everything was submitted, including the police clearance," the club official tells KickOff.
"The work permit should be ready by this weekend.
"He has settled in well in the country and is looking forward to begin playing for Mamelodi Sundowns."
Mamelodi Sundowns have also so far signed Grant Kekana, Neo Maema and Sifiso Ngobeni to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
The Brazilians get their campaign under way this Sunday when they face Kaizer Chiefs in an MTN8 quarter-final.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
