Mamelodi Sundowns are traveling to Seychelles without two key players, while there’s room for a few fringe players and a return to the team for Kennedy Mweene.
The 2016 CAF Champions League champions are leaving for Seychelles to take on Cote d’Or in the final qualifying round before the group stages of the competition.
Head coach Pitso Mosimane will be without the suspended Hlompho Kekana, who was sent off in the first leg preliminary round tie against Congolese outfit AS Otoho. Kekana, though, will still be traveling with the team to Seychelles as Mosimane will also be using the training sessions to prepare for next Wednesday’s MTN8 second leg semi-final against Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.
Kekana and the ineligible Sammy Seabi will not feature, so Andile Jali and Tiyani Mabunda are likely to start together in the middle of the park. Oupa Manyisa is also traveling with the team and gives Mosimane an option in central midfield.
Aubrey Ngoma, Bangaly Soumahoro, Harold Majadibodu and Jose Ali Meza are part of the traveling squad, despite not getting action for the team this season.
Thapelo Morena and Rivaldo Coetzee, who have been out nursing injuries, are not traveling.
Sundowns are traveling with three goalkeepers, Denis Onyango, Reyaad Pieterse and the returning Mweene.
Key attacking players Themba Zwane, Gaston Sirino, Lebohang Maboe and Sibusiso Vilakazi are in the team.
