Mamelodi Sundowns forward Jose Ali Meza has been linked with a return to South America with 29-time Bolivian league champions Bolivar.
The 29-year-old striker was poised to leave Sundowns at the start of 2019/20 on a season-long loan deal with Maritzburg United but after the deal fell through, he fought his way back into head coach Pitso Mosimane's plans.
Having extended his contract to the end of the 2019/20 season after the suspension of the Absa Premiership, reports in Bolivian media claim he is set for a return to the league where his exploits caught the attention of Masandawana.
Speaking to Punto Penal in a recent interview, Meza admitted he will be available on a free transfer but stopped short of confirming the speculation that he will join the most successful club in Bolivian football history.
"My contract ended in June, [but] due to the pandemic they made me a new contract until the end of the current tournament if it continues, there would be two more months," Meza confirmed.
"I cannot say that I am going to Bolivar or Oriente because I do not know, I do not close the doors to anyone but I will try to choose the best option for me and my family."
Meza scored two goals and registered as many assists in 17 appearances for Sundowns this season before the coronavirus crisis halted the season.
