Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing to sensationally revive their interest in in-demand SuperSport United midfielder, Sipho Mbule.

Mbule had been previously strongly linked with a potential switch to Sundowns during the offseason.

The rumours were later strongly refuted by Matsatsantsa spokesperson, David Sikhosane who rubbished the reports.

However, Kickoff.com has since learnt that the Brazilians are intending to make an official offer to their Tshwane rivals that may include a possible swap deal involving midfielder George Maluleka in the January transfer window.

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has found his playing time limited since arriving from Naturena last season.

The 32-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Brazilians in the current campaign as he finds himself well down the pecking order.

According to a source close to Supersport United, the club is refusing to rule out the chance of a January switch for Mbule if a substantial offer was received.

"The door is not closed for Mbule to move. The club has always been looking for an opportunity to sell him overseas," the source tells Kickoff.com.

"The challenge is that they can't keep him forever and if that overseas opportunity doesn't materialise.

"Chances are high now that the club could be open to local offers, but it must be a very good offer.

"Sundowns have not hidden their admiration for the player."
