Mamelodi Sundowns look set to part ways with one of their South American players.
Following the arrival of Mauricio Affonso, the Absa Premiership could look to offload Venezuelan Jose Ali Meza, who has not convinced head coach Pitso Mosimane he is deserving of a spot in the starting line-up.
Meza joined Sundowns at the start of last season, six months after star man Gaston Sirino was signed by the Brazilians. Unlike Sirino, Meza did not hit the ground running and struggled to get into the team ahead of other attacking players in the side.
The 28-year-old made 13 appearances in all competitions, with just one goal and one assist. He made just one Absa Premiership appearance in the second half of the season, so his chances of playing regularly in the upcoming campaign are slim.
Sundowns, meanwhile, will soon be announcing the signing of former Free State Stars right back Nyiko Mobbie after unveiling Affonso while in camp in Mpumalanga.
