Major boost for Downs as Nascimento cleared

Premiership

Mamelodi Sundowns have received a major boost in their title aspirations after defender Ricardo Nascimento resumed full training at Chloorkop.

Nascimento missed the Brazilians' entire pre-season after the club allowed him to complete his rehabilitation from injury back in Brazil.

The 34-year-old defender has now been declared fit and will likely soon return to action.

"Nascimento is back and training full time with the club," a club official tells KickOff.com.

"It's just an issue of fitness, otherwise, he is ready to play.

"We saw the reports in the media, and what I can assure our supporters is that Nascimento is a Sundowns player, and he is a registered member of the team for this season."

Mamelodi Sundowns are still yet to lose a match in the league this season and remain position one in the log after accumulated seven points after three games played so far in the season.
